A FINANCIAL STORY....Whoaaaaaaa-whip lash!

Ah! speaking of drama. This would qualify. When we thought every thing was over,a year had past. The phone rings and someone says,"The timeshare is still in your name and we want to give it back." "We can't sell it because the economy is bad." It is our 'Third Party' nightmare. Helpppppppppp!

All though it was a trade-in, the new resort does not want it nor does the home resort. So, the third party saids, "If you don't take it back it will go into foreclosure and your credit will be effected.

In the mean time the money that was paid to the third party for the RCI and maintenance fees (estimated $1k) will not be given to those parties. We were informed that we must pay the fees all over directly to RCI and the resort.

Ladies and gentlemen that is the bad part. The good part is that we did not have to pay the trade-in money to the new resort because the third party paid it(over 15k). The fact is we didn't have the money any ways. Can you believe that by the end of the same year, we had to pay the fees again for the following year. Just in case you are counting, that is the third time in one year those fees were paid by us.

We decided to take the timeshare back and figure out later what to do. Now we are stuck with a timeshare we do not need. It is beautiful but we do not want to pay the maintenance fee.

I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING.

TELL THE OTHER READERS WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE DONE?

I know you did not think the drama was over! What fun would that be? So as the world turns and the days go by; a conversation with RCI developed into "What the h**** are you talking about." RCI saids that our resort was changed from a week into points. Therefore, they have the right to rent it out if we do not contact them thirteen months before the vacation week. By the way this timeshare is a 4th of July week every year. Well, here is another one of those find print articles written in one of their books of rules involving points. We are pretty sure we did not sign a contract with RCI agreeing to this but I was told that what ever occured over the phone when we changed to points automatically put us in agreement with their rules.

YES, everyone the timeshare, which actually is two separate connecting rooms have been rented out for 2010. Now, we will have to pay RCI to check for a place we would like to go inplace of our home resort. We only stayed at the resort once out of four years and knew nothing of RCI rules. But don't judge! It could happen to any one who is trusting of others to tell the whole truth.

OKAY,OKAY,OKAY-we are guilty of this and that. You tell us.
